LightForce Laser Therapy uses a high powered laser to increase cellular activity which decreases pain and inflammation. It is a non-invasive, safe alternative to drugs and surgery and has proven to help conditions such as tendonitits, fibromyalgia, sciatica, arthritis and more.

How does LightForce™ Laser Therapy work?

Dr. Peter Ferraro: Well, LightForce™ Laser Therapy is a non-invasive technique to help reduce pain and inflammation. This treatment is FDA cleared and enables patients to have an alternative to drugs and surgery. It allows your body to utilize its own healing powers by inducing a series of healing responses in your body.

What type of conditions can be treated with LightForce™ Laser Therapy?

Dr. Peter Ferraro: It is a variety of conditions, especially those that are inflammatory based, but the LightForce™ Laser Therapy treats things like tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, tennis elbow, post-surgical healing. It works very well for fibromyalgia, sciatica, and pain associated with disc herniations and neuritis. We also have some podiatric complaints such as plantar fasciitis that it works great for, as well as headaches, sinusitis, TMJ, and even some neurological ones like Bells Palsy.

How long do treatments typically last?

Dr. Peter Ferraro: I mean, treatments can vary and they’re depending on the region, but because this is a high-powered laser (it is a Class 4 25-watt laser) the treatment times are vastly reduced. So, we are talking anywhere between just 5 and 10 minutes for any given area.

What does the patient feel when you are treating them with the laser?

Dr. Peter Ferraro: Well, during a treatment time the patient feels a soothing warmth caused by the increased cellular activity, which actually activates a process leading to decreased pain inflammation.

That treatment typically lasts between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the condition being treated. But, for a small area like an arthritic finger we may only need just under a minute.

Are the healing times dramatically faster using LightForce™ Laser Therapy?

Dr. Peter Ferraro: They are, because of the 25-watt and the fact that it is a deep tissue, the treatment times vary from 5 to 10 minutes. But, we see that with some of the other lasers, cold laser for example, some of the treatments can go up to 15 minutes. So, there is a considerable time savings in using the Deep Tissue Laser.
