In order to determine which chiropractic treatment plan is right for our patients, we thoroughly evaluate all of our patients and their conditions every time they come in, not just on the first visit. Based on that evaluation, we’ll determine and present a treatment plan with recommendations and the different methods of treatment. The treatment methods may differ for one injury versus the other. There is no blanket treatment across the board.
Patient education and understanding at this point is key because we always need to make sure that the patient knows what we’re doing and why. We explain to the patient what we’re doing, why, what they can expect during the treatments, any side effects or different sensations they might have during the treatments and what sort of outcomes they can expect after the treatment is done. We always try to get as much feedback from the patients as possible to determine their comfort level with the different treatments. This way we can decide to use the traditional chiropractic manipulations, a different soft tissue technique, or a lighter force technique such as like an activator or impulse device which is a much lower force and more gentle way but equally as effective.
